I recently purchased two Chanel items at the Bag Borrow Or Steal Final Sale Promotion.

One was a Chanel ring and the other item was a Chanel necklace.

The total retail value for the items was about $2200.00

I purchased both items for about $450.00 including shipping and tax!

The purchase was confirmed by email and just to make sure I called customer service and spoke to a representative who assured me that the items were mine!

The next day a Bag Borrow Or Steal customer service representative named Becca called to tell me she was so sorry but there had been a computer problem and that they couldn't fulfill my order. She said to "make up" for the error I would receive a $30.00 merchandise credit towards another purchase. The only problem with that is EVERYTHING comparable is much more expensive!!!

To add insult to injury the same exact thing happened a little over a year ago when I place an order at a similar sale!!!

I think this is a way to get business because if they really wanted to do the right thing they would have offered to replace the items with something similar for the price I paid!!!

I think they are pulling a "bait and switch" and it's not the first time!

Not only that but when I asked Becca for the name of the CEO of the company so I could write to him she refused to tell me his name!!!

Obviously he feels a need to hide out although his name is easily googled.

Shame on you Bag Borrow Or Steal

Monetary Loss: $1800.

BBOS can be no worst than bmore betty in Maryland! If they are forget all of them!

no receipt, just a lot of fast talking and wants to give you little or nothing for top quality handbags! Her day is coming to a head for sure.

BBOS is gonna get all the sales if they get their act togeather! I'm going to try them and see what happens.

You guys have really scared me! This place sounds like a night mare!

There is a similar place in Baltimore called Bmore Betty who consigns and sells and if you are not alert they will rip you right off right there on the spot! Tell me some good things about BBOS!

Dear customer,

First we would like to extend our sincere apologies. We completely understand the inconvenience of this issue and are putting forth all efforts to ensure such issues do not occur in the future. We would also like to apologize for the delay in time in notifying you. This was a website issue; in error it allowed an order to be placed for items that were no longer available. Unfortunately this was not discovered until the time of shipping at which we canceled the order immediately, to prevent you from being charged, and notified you.

We do our best to offer great prices on designer items and would like nothing more than to get these fabulous items to you. Due to the uniqueness of our business and the limited ‘Final Sale’ items you had selected, we did not have replacements to send to you otherwise we surely would have.

As a courtesy for our error, we had extended the store credit and personal phone call to you. By no means was this intended to offend you. The store credit is yours to keep and will never expire.

We assure you that we are doing our best everyday to deliver a better experience to you and all of our customers.

Sincere apologies,

Alferd Pwp

Your self serving excuse is not at all acceptable. As I stated previously this is not the first time this has happened.

The exact same thing happened before.

I don't want the $30.00 credit since it is obvious that you do this "computer glitch" thing only as a ploy to get customers to shop and spend more money.

You do own comparable merchandise but it is must more expensive. I requested that you substitute similar items to the ones I purchased (which you have) but my request was refused!!!

You need to come up with another scheme to "bait and switch" consumers. We're on to this one.

As for your "personal phone call" is was a waste of my precious time since it is only to enhance your bait and switch ploy

I cannot describe how bad Bag Borrow or Steal is. The customer service is so bad it is shocking.

I haven't seen anything like it. I'm an attorney so I'm well aware of contract law. I saw a Chanel bag I liked. I also recently got an email from BBOS saying that they would offer me $412 for my Alexander McQueen bag.

I then called their customer service & told them I was waiting for my credit for the McQueen bag so I could use it towards the Chanel bag. A lady called Rachel assured me that I would get the $412 once the inspection of my McQueen bag was done & to simply buy the Chanel bag & they would put $412 onto my card as soon as the McQueen inspection was done. I called 3 times to confirm this & BBOS confirmed it would be done. On this assurance, I purchased the Chanel bag with my credit card thinking they would recredit me.

Well it was all a scam. A few days later, after I had purchased the Chanel bag, I called BBOS asking whether they had recredited me the $412 as they said they would. To my utter surprise, they told me that my McQueen bag was not to their liking & they therefore hadn't recredited anything to my card. It was in total breach of their promise to me.

I then asked for the Chanel purchase to be cancelled and I was told that it would take a whole 7 days for the money to even go back on my card. I was mislead, misinformed and I believe the whole thing was a breach of contract.

To add insult to injury, the staff were rude, (in particular a lady called Jennifer), unprofessional and did not even offer me credit or any compensation for my loss. I have no idea how this company gets away with these scams and stays in business.
